We are never taking a pair of these off
Much like properly maintained eyebrows and an excellent hair colourist, silver hoop earrings can illuminate your whole face. Some people prefer those of the gold variety, but we think both are a necessary component of any respectable jewellery collection. Silver hoop earrings, however, are perhaps the subtler sister of glamorous gold ones. Because of this, they are somewhat easier to commit to. It’s easier to allow something to enter your life for the long haul when it’s relatively inconspicuous, we guess.
That said, some silver hoop earrings really aren’t inconspicuous at all. Especially not the ‘Orgy’ ones by Georgia Kemball. Or any designed by Shaun Leane. In some ways, the only thing that links silver hoop earrings across the planet is their colour, but it’s all the remaining points of difference - size, shape, material - that gives them an enduring appeal. While there might be a particularly understated pair that sit quietly on your earlobes when you don’t have much time for personal styling (like the sterling silver ones from COS), others - such as those by All Blues - demand an entire outfit to be built around them.
Often, the onus is put on us to choose one or the other. We reject this. If you’ve got enough space in your life for lots of different pairs of jeans, you’ve got enough space in your life for lots of different pairs of silver hoop earrings. Why choose when you can have it all?
