It would be somewhat patronising to tell you how culturally significant hoodies are, wouldn't it? But whether by romantic theft or general misplacement, most of us have probably both loved and lost a hoodie at least once in our lives.
Either in spite of all this or because of it, plain hoodies are what we crave when we seek comfort in our clothes. Whether yours is a plain black hoodie from Hidden Mangroves or a pink one from Stone Island, hoodies are to waist-up dressing what leggings are to waist-down dressing: an opportunity for sartorial repose.
And, at a time when human hugs are scarce, we daresay they might be an essential item.
