Favoured by the likes of Bella Hadid, Rosalía and Beyoncé, Christianah Jones is certainly not for anyone who wears sunglasses to appear inconspicuous. Inspired by iconic figures such as Aaliyah and Queen Latifah, the brand is an ode to 90s maximalism. Part of this year’s Forbes 30 Under 30 list for European retail & ecommerce talent, Christianah Adenrele (who goes by Tianah) is the woman behind the brand. Moving schools frequently to find one that would offer an appropriate level of support for her hearing impairment, she was educated in Nigeria and Reading before studying Psychology. While at university, Tianah developed a collection of vintage eyewear. Already a Depop veteran, she sold it all in 2016 - and instantly regretted it. Eventually, she decided to design her own pieces after realising that "no one else was doing tiny sunglasses" and Christianah Jones was born. Never without a knowing sense of humour (the code for free worldwide shipping on the site is WASHYOURHANDS), this is a Black-owned brand to support wholeheartedly.
