Christmas comes late this year. In fact, this time it falls on January 18th, which is the day that Beyoncé’s new IVY PARK collection drops. As part of a collaboration with adidas, the singer has revealed in an interview with ELLE UK that the collection will be gender neutral. Gracing the cover of the magazine’s January edition, in an ‘Ask me Anything’ questionnaire with her fans, Knowles suggests that she designs IVY PARK with everyone in mind, commenting that “I focused on designing a unisex collection of footwear and apparel because I saw so many men in IVY PARK,” describing seeing men embrace the brand as an “unexpected gift.”

The collection, which was teased with six photos on her Instagram earlier today, showcases clothing, accessories, jewellery and a pair of sneakers, meaning it’s pretty much confirmed that you’ll be able to don full IVY PARK x adidas attire, grills included. In keeping with the signature IVY PARK athleisure aesthetic, the first look of the sportswear line appears to be primarily burgundy, with a shell suit-leotard hybrid detailed with 80s-style orange piping. There’s also plenty of statement jewellery. From an ear cuff and grill (chunky, gold and adorned with logos) to bracelets worn on the ankles. Elsewhere, sneakers are a classic adidas silhouette, with gum soles, a white upper with orange, grey and burgundy details, and mark the first time IVY PARK has released footwear of any kind.

Although the collection with adidas is set to be gender neutral, Beyoncé is still championing women around her. For this particular project she looked to director Melina Matsoukas, of whom she worked with previously on her album Lemonade. In the interview, Knowles expressed how empowering it is for her to have acquired total ownership of Ivy Park in 2018, making her the first African American woman to own an athleisure brand. The interview also gave insight to other pieces of the collection, which include a track top bodysuit, harness bag, a short sleeve hoodie and an asymmetrical puffer jacket. So set your reminders and save your Christmas spends to get your hands on one of 2020’s most hyped collaborations.

IVY PARK x adidas will be released January 18th 2020, stay tuned for more details.
