The script is on this year’s Black List, an annual rundown of the most talked-about scripts in Hollywood, that are yet to be produced. At one stage films like Juno, The Wolf of Wall Street and The King’s Speech were on it – this isn't child's play. The working title? "Frenemy" of course. A precis: “a chronicle of the infamous Lindsay Lohan/Paris Hilton feud of 2004-2006 over who would be Britney Spears’ best friend.” Hook. Line. Sinker.
Written by up-and-coming screenwriter Ariel Sayegh, the story is sympathetic to the real-life events. How Lindsay and Paris were the hottest, Juicy Couture wearing, top-down driving girls in town. How when Paris started hanging out with Britney, Lindsay was left with no option but to crash the party. The Holy Trinity, an image of the three of them squeezed into a sports car is widely considered to be one of the most famous paparazzi images of all time.
It's hoped, alongside news of a President with a brain and that of a vaccine, that the making of this film, will join its own Holy Trinity, the one of Excellent News. Who knows, there might even be a reconciliation?
