Emily Cooper unexpectedly lands the job of her dreams in Paris (tasked with revamping a French marketing company's social media strategy). Though, the adventure is not without its challenges: from learning a new language and winning over colleagues to juggling a new career, friendships and romances. Thinking this is all sounding very The Devil Wears Prada? You’re not that far off.
Lily Collins plays Emily Cooper, an ambitious 20-something from Chicago. She is joined by Grey’s Anatomy’s Kate Walsh, Ashley Park from Mean Girls and a few French talents to have on your radar (including Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu of Netflix cult favourite Call My Agent!) and rising model and actress Camille Rozat.
Darren Star, the brainchild behind Sex and the City, Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place, has written and produced Emily in Paris. While Patricia Field, the costume designer who created the iconic looks for SATC famous four, works her magic once more for Emily and co. The chic Parisian settings - Opera Garnier, Tour Eiffel, Place Vendôme and many more – will delight those plotting their 2021 getaway to the City of Lights.
Ten 30-minute episodes will be available on Netflix from Friday, October 2.
