Why we are thankful for Kanye’s Closed on Sunday video

From the connotations to the full clan, Kanye’s new video the best thing on the internet today

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for Kanye being thankful to his wife and family, via the medium of music video featuring Kim, Kris, Kourtney, Chicago, Saint, North, Psalm, the whole clan.

There are a few takeaways to, well, takeaway. One, the lyrics are exceptional. ‘You my Chick-fil-A, Hold the selfies, put the 'Gram away’, that makes you question whether you’re watching the real video or have accidentally clicked on the spoof version instead. But no. There they are, the whole family, nestled among the rocks, in head-to-toe Yeezy. In fact the Chick Fill-A reference has religious connotations, he is referring to their business policy, stemmed by the founders religious beliefs, of only operating six days a week, so they’re closed on Sunday.

"You my Chick-fil-A, Hold the selfies, put the 'Gram away."

Two, the apocalyptic vibe and the appearance of North (I think it’s North, I don’t watch, sorry) screaming at the end, is cute and disconcerting all at once. And three, the backing vocals performed by Kanye’s cult - sorry - crew, are nothing short of play-on-repeatable. So here, watch and listen and maybe begin to be lulled into the slowly-kreeping Kult of Kanye. It’s happening people, you read it here first.
