Coyote Ugly fans, rejoice! Tyra Banks has just revealed that a sequel for early 00s classic is in the making. She confirmed the news during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Whether Coyote Ugly 2 will be a movie or TV series is still under wraps. Here's what we know so far...

“You know what? I literally am supposed to be on a conference call today about bringing Coyote Ugly back,” laughed Banks on the talk show. Continuing: "And I’m talking to you and I can’t talk to them! But it’s fine because I’m talking to them right now.”

ICYMI: The musical rom-com, Coyote Ugly - released twenty years ago (!) -centred around a group of fearless female bartenders. It quickly gained a cult status (I mean, c’mon, who didn't want to be a Coyote?). A cinematic ode to feminism, the power of female friendship and dreaming big.

A stellar casting credit list: Banks played bartender Zoë, alongside Bridget Moynahan (Rachel), and Izabella Miko (Cammie), who worked at the infamous Coyote Ugly bar, run by Maria Bello (Lil). Aspiring singer, Violet (Piper Perabo) lands a job, when she comes to New York City to pursue her dreams of becoming a singer-songwriter.

Tyra Banks also recalled the story of her audition for the role of Zoë. "They asked me what song I wanted to play. I was like, ‘OK, I'll take Prince's Kiss, Banks told Clarkson. “They push play. I'm in this huge hotel room, all these casting people lined up looking at me. The whole song I ended up dancing. Then after I'm out of breath, they all just start laughing. They're like, ‘We are so sorry, but we were enjoying that so much, we kept the music going.” You can watch the whole interview here.
