So, so, so scandalous: James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke has just been outed as a fake
We hate to break it to you, but you know that Carpool Karaoke bit James Corden does on The Late Late Show? It’s all a lie. He may appear to be behind the wheel, but driving he is not. The car is actually being towed by a truck. Has there ever been a more hurtful fib? We may as well tell you now that Father Christmas isn’t real either, nor the Easter Bunny. And you know the money left under your pillow as a kid by the tooth fairy? It was your parents. It’s all so disappointing, wasn’t Corden’s presence in Hollywood meant to be bringing some authenticity?
This is definitely worse than when Kylie Jenner lied about having her lips done, and maybe even as bad as when Britney said she was a virgin. The news broke yesterday, when an onlooker on the street spotted Corden and Justin Bieber inside the famous Range Rover, happily singing along, whilst being pulled by a truck. We know, we wished we hadn’t seen it either. Whilst the world is in mourning (seriously, check Twitter), we have to give a silent sigh of relief regarding their safety. Really, what were we thinking? We must have been delusional to believe Mariah Carey would have seriously let Corden drive her around that distracted in trying to hit the high notes of Always be my Baby.

Corden, and The Late Late Show’s producer Ben Winston, have already come back with a response. Whilst Corden has joked on Twitter, “guys, we don’t even use a real car,” Winston said that they only use the rig when they’re attempting a ‘stunt,’ which according to Winston has only happened “maybe 4 times in 50 or so carpools.” We just don’t know what to believe anymore.
