EYELASH SERUMS WE ADORE

Beauty standards are fickle things. Take eyebrows, for example. At one point in history, the only eyebrows worth having on your face were ones that had been plucked into obscurity. Later, this fell out of favour dramatically. Everyone wanted their eyebrows to be as full as possible instead (which explains why procedures like microblading and brow lamination became increasingly popular).

But no one has ever wanted stubby eyelashes. Acquiring thick and long eyelashes, however, is not the simplest of tasks. Mascara is an obvious solution, but it’s not something that can always withstand intense emotions. And, even if you don’t have those, accidentally sleeping in it could prove disastrous. Another option is an eyelash tint. While this offers more longevity than mascara (and the opportunity to forgo it entirely), it stings. Then, there are eyelash extensions and false lashes. As fabulous as these look, the latter are cumbersome to put on at all and the former can take about two hours to apply. Once on, they risk causing permanent damage to your natural lashes. But maybe that’s enough negativity for one day. What we really recommend for thick and long eyelashes – that are completely your own – is an eyelash serum for growth. Here are the best.

Indeed Labs

INDEED LABS PEPTALASH II, £24.99 AT FEEL UNIQUE

Indeed Labs is a brand that prides itself on affordability. Thankfully, this has no effect on the quality of its products. Peptalash II doesn’t only improve lash thickness, it also helps to prevent lash breakage. But your eyelashes aren’t the only things that will benefit from using it regularly: it nourishes the eye area to minimise the appearance of crow’s feet as well.

REVITALASH

REVITALASH ADVANCED EYELASH CONDITIONER SERUM, £110

If you’re unsure about whether RevitaLash is worth the money, just look at the sales figures: the brand has sold 10 million tubes of their Advanced Eyelash Conditioner since 2007. Created by ophthalmologist Dr Michael Brinkenhoff to condition his wife’s eyelashes through her chemotherapy, it was among one of the first eyelash serums to be made available to the general public. To this day, a portion of all proceeds are donated to Breast Cancer Awareness charities.

RapidLash

RAPIDLASH EYELASH ENHANCING SERUM, £39.99

The RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum doesn’t give you longer, stronger, fuller, thicker and healthier eyelashes by magic. You can thank the exclusive Hexatein® 1 Complex for that. It contains polypeptides to protect against breakage, vitamin B5 to moisturise, soybean oil to add a certain sheen and pumpkin seed extract that provides the vitamins your eyelashes need to thrive.

RODIAL

RODIAL LASH & BROW BOOSTER SERUM, £50 AT SPACE NK

There is really no sense in having gained glorious eyelashes if your eyebrows remain sparse by comparison. While this may be a feature on eyelash serums, eyebrows deserve the same love: they’re one of your face’s favourite teams, after all. This might explain our adoration for Rodial’s Lash & Brow Booster Serum. Containing castor oil (a TikTok favourite), vitamin B5, hyaluronic acid and a complex of proteins, it will give you more impressive lashes and brows without the use of extensions of microblading.

SHISEIDO

SHISEIDO FULL LASH SERUM, £37

We love Shiseido’s Full lash Serum simply because it’s a product that does what it says it will: give you full lashes (and brows for that matter). Enriched with arginine to help follicles get back to a state that could be described as ‘fighting fit’, it’s the perfect addition to your skincare routine.
