When Jennifer Aniston finally made her Instagram debut in October 2019, makeup artist Gucci Westman posted her own homage to the Friends star hinting at a Friends reunion (please god, let this be true) along with everyone else. But it’s OK that Gucci did it because they were legitimate, face-squashing mates-on-holiday pictures that document their genuine (ahem) friendship over the years. Why are they friends? Well that’s between them, but I suspect it might have something to do with how much you too would love someone who made you look that great on the cover of American Vogue in 2004.
And therein lies the secret to the other Gucci. She’s the kind of makeup artist who makes women look fucking amazing. She’s not overtly editorial or kookily creative, she just knows exactly how to wield a blusher brush in the exact way that will carve you a cheekbone you’d never imagined your face was capable of. Such is the reputation and influence of Gucci Westman that when her consciously-crafted beauty brand Westman Atelier launched in 2018, it got the same kind of global buzz as Jen An joining Insta.
So long story short, when Gucci invites you round to the in-laws for afternoon tea, BURO. says, Hell yes, please. And show us how you carve some of those Hollywood cheekbones while you’re at it, would you?
Watch Gucci talk us through her favourite Westman Atelier products (and the ones she uses on her favourite friends), her crystals of choice (she picked them up at the airport), and do the best-worst British accent this side of Brexit. The other Gucci, we salute you.
