A new landmark, aptly titled the Taj Arabia has been announced for Dubai and it's unmistakably inspired by the Taj Mahal. Touted as the new landmark destination for weddings and luxury hospitality, the project, which is set to start works in 2016, will be located at the Falcon City of Wonders in Dubailand. It's also set to be twice the size of India's icon, the 5-star Taj Mahal.
Buro 24/7 Middle East spoke to the Taj Arabia Project Development Director, Falah AlSalman who says, "We are certainly not mimicking the Taj Mahal but we are however following the same spirit of that landmark and creating a new symbol of love. The Taj Mahal took a long time to be completed and we too do not want to rush it. We want to ensure that everything is considered carefully from F&B to wedding operators and everything in between."
Once completed, the Taj Arabia will be a hive of retail outlets, restaurants as well as the ultimate space for indoor and outdoor celebrations. The retail space will cover one million sq. ft., which will be situated around the development and consist of high-end luxury multi- and mono-brand boutiques, including a significant number of jewellery houses to cater to said special occasions.
Taj Arabia is scheduled for completion in 2018.
