The mirrorless vs DSLR camera war looks set to keep on raging as the Sony α7R camera won Hot Stuff's 'Best Camera of the Year' title at Gitex 2015. Its "36.4 MP 35mm full-frame Exmor CMOS sensor delivers high resolution, sensitivity and speed. Where many could quickly and confidently say DSLR reigns supreme, it's not that clear-cut now. Current technology by mirrorless camera-makers like Sony, ensures that whatever mirrorless lags behind in its counterpart is now kept to a minimum. 

Having said that, the convenient weapon of choice for photos at the moment is undoubtedly the Smartphone, but 'proper' cameras have never stopped being in demand. In fact, the wide array of camera choices and technology — Smartphones included ­— is increasingly blurring the line between amateur and professional.
