Facebook users will soon have access to some pretty awe-inspiring video content, as the social media giant announces the introduction of the 360-degree video to its newsfeed. Desktop and Android users (iOS is coming soon) will be able to upload and view "immersive" videos, controlling them with their fingertips, cursor or simply by moving their phone.

GoPro, Star Wars and Discovery are among the first brands to launch with the new 360-degree videos.

"Over time," a Facebook spokesperson said, "we've seen that people enjoy more immersive content in their News Feeds. This is one reason video has been so successful on Facebook, and we're excited to take it a step further with 360 video."
