The OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic 2016 is set to bring golfing to the forefront once again. Since its inception in 1989, the tournament has attracted the world's best golfers to the region and winners of the prestigious tournament include golfing greats Tiger Woods and defending champion Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy, together with fellow participant Sergio Garcia, are brand ambassadors for the title sponsor. Northern Irish McIlroy has been an OMEGA ambassador since 2013 while Spaniard Garcia has been connected to the brand since 2003.
"The OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic has gained in reputation over recent years and offers players a truly unique experience," said Raynald Aeschlimann, OMEGA Vice President and International Sales Director. "This is a beautiful course in a thriving city and I believe it will continue to attract top ranking golfers from around the world. Quite rightfully, it is now known as the 'Major of the Middle East'."
In addition to the trophy, the winner of the tournament will also receive the OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Master Co-Axial that features a red gold case and hands as well as Super-LumiNova-coated indexes for legibility in all environments. As an added bonus, the first golfer to score a hole-in-one on the 7th hole will also receive the same watch but with a red gold and stainless steel case.
The OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic 2016 will run from February 4-7, 2016, at the Emirates Golf Club. For more information, visit Dubai Desert Classic.
