The Sultanate of Oman will play host to the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series this February. Set to be the first of six races spread around the globe, the Oman spectacle will be the first time the world-class sailing event hits the region.
"Oman is an ideal place for us to open the 2016 racing calendar," said Harvey Schiller, America's Cup Commercial Commissioner. "It's exciting to be bringing America's Cup racing to this part of the world for the first time," he continued.
Salim Al Mamari, Director General of Tourism Promotion for the Ministry of Tourism in Oman also confirmed the news, saying: "We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series Oman here in Muscat for the first time and we are very proud and excited to welcome the America's Cup community and its massive following to the Sultanate."
In celebration of the event, Louis Vuitton have also created a special collection, designed for function and style while yachting. The collection will be available in stores from March. Until then watch the video for a sneak peek at the upcoming event...
