Filipino boxing superstar, Manny Pacquiao, will be making an appearance in Dubai, but he's leaving his boxing gloves at home. This time, the busy boxer, congressman and basketball player is visiting in the capacity of a team member of the Mahindra Enforcers basketball team. Manny and the team, which he also helps coach, are scheduled to make a visit in November for the annual PBA Philippine Cup series.

Carlo Zozobrado of of Clique Events (who are promoting the event) has said: "Pacquiao will coach his team the Mahindra Enforcers against the Alaska Aces on November 6 to play in PBA's Philippine Cup series in Dubai, at either Al Nasr Sports Club or Hamdan Sports Complex."

With so many strings to his bow, Pacquiao, who stands at a modest 5ft 6 inches tall, doesn't have the height advantage that many career basketball players have, and is his team's shortest player. But his infectious drive is no doubt a secret weapon for the team. He claims that the sport is an excellent way to keep on his toes, improving his footwork for boxing.

Sadly his infamous shoulder injury, incurred during the run-up to the Mayweather epic battle, may keep him on the bench for the November game but he is guaranteed to be there in a coaching capacity if so.
