Watch with... 7th Art

7th Art is a series of film screenings held every alternate Sunday in Abu Dhabi. This week, two films will be shown that explore the influence of surrealism on cinema. The first is a 16-minute short film titled Un Chien Andalou (An Andalusian Dog). The 1929 film, directed by Luis Buñuel, presents stark, surrealistic images, made with input from Salvador Dali. The second film is Le Sang d'un Poète (The Blood of a Poet), a 1932 film directed by Jean Cocteau. Divided into four parts, the film is a fascinating look at the struggle to create art.
