This isn't the first time that the Manhattan-based luxury hotel – Mandarin Oriental New York – has turned to the Mulleavy sisters for a slice of their brand of decorative design, and once again the hotel has called upon Rodarte to deliver some bespoke accessories. This time, the Mulleavys have designed a limited-edition series of scarves, the first of which will make its debut during New York Fashion Week.

The hotel's 35th-floor perch, overlooking the Upper West Side, provided the sisters with all of the design inspiration they needed: "One of our favourite parts of the hotel is its iconic view over Central Park, especially during the winter," said Kate Mulleavy. "The branches are meant to invoke the landscape of Manhattan."

The Mandarin Oriental commissioned Rodarte scarf measures 48 inches by 48 inches and features a black and white pattern with hints of purple. Visitors to the hotel can purchase one of these special edition accessories at the Spa Boutique from September 11 for $350.
