Gucci is adding a gastronomic workshop to its repertoire as it opens the brand's first ever full service restaurant, in Shanghai. The new high-end eatery (a leap up from the cafe's in Florence and Tokyo) is accessed through the Gucci boutique in the luxury shopping destination, IAPM mall. Whereupon diners ascend to new culinary heights on an escalator inside the boutique, to reach the new restaurant – 1921 Gucci  – named after the year that the Italian fashion label was founded.

The menu offers a curated selection of Italian inspired dishes, another nod to the label's roots, including; scallop carpaccio with green asparagus and sweet and sour orange, bruschetta with truffle, linguine with basil pesto and parmesan cheese, mango tiramisu and much more.

Even with such alluring fare on the menu, the interiors are just as much of a draw for the discerning diner, this is Gucci after all. With luscious dark wood setting the tone, and plush velvet seats, gold accents on table tops and even menu lettering bring a luxurious elevation to the experience, we also love the monogrammed napkins.
