Today marks the opening of the inaugural K-Food Fair in Dubai. Korea is renowned for its fine flavours and gourmet street nosh, and now the great gastronomic chefs of the region are setting up in Dubai for three days only. This weekend residents and tourists alike can experience the diversity of South Korean dishes when the food fair hits Zabeel Park. As part of the event, there will also be entertainment and games including tangerine eating, persimmon stacking, picking ginseng with chopsticks and culinary trivia questions.
"The increased number of tourists from the Middle East to South Korea, including the growth of Korean restaurants in the UAE indicated the ideal time to launch the first-ever K-Food Fair in Dubai," said Chung-Sik Yoo, Executive Vice President of Food Industry and Export Promotion for Korea Agro-Fisheries and Trade Corporation. "Creating new business opportunities for both communities while enabling the UAE's residents to experience South Korea's best-loved dishes is our key objective."
The K-Food Fair runs from November 26-28.
