Apple has been fusing the world of tech and luxury gradually overtime but the big leap came earlier this year when the brand's first wearable tech device – the Apple Watch – was released. Jony Ive and Marc Newson even got a headline spot at the inaugural Conde Nast 'Luxury Conference' event in Florence, where they rubbed shoulders with the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Suzy Menkes.
The luxuriously fashionable appeal of the watch is now getting another major boost in the form of a hot new collaboration with none-other-than Hermès. The French maison is lending it's artisanal expertise of leather-craft and ultra elegant watchmaking, which dates back to 1837 (more than a century and half before Apple was even conceived of), to Apple.
Hermès has designed two styles of leather hand-stitched, wrist strap to affix to the Apple Watch; the 'Single Tour' which is a version of their own classic, adapted for the wearable tech gadget, that looks like a cuff, and the 'Double Tour' which elegantly wraps around the wrist twice. Prices start at $1,100 for the luxury leather bands, which come in a range of colours from classic brown, signature Hermès orange and a soft aqua blue. There is even a new gleaming black Hermès watch face option available, to match the strap.
