Discover a glimpse of the future of Dubai with these images of the ten top developments and projects planned or underway in Dubai. As the city continues to push the envelope in ambitious and game-changing projects in the fields of retail, residential and culture, we take a look at what the finished products will look like in the new Dubai skyline...
Projects include; Al Sufouh 1, set to supersede Dubai Mall as the world's largest mall with seven kilometres of retail space as well as an indoor theme park and a wellness centre. Residents or recent visitors of Dubai can't have missed the divisions on Sheikh Zayed Road and through Al Wasl and Beach Road, as diggers prepare to trough out the new stream for the Dubai Canal along Safa Park. The highly anticipated cultural hub, the Dubai Downtown Opera district and the huge amusement and entertainment destination of Mohamed Bin Rashid City with its Universal Studios complex.
Of course, this is Dubai, so on top of these already ambitious projects are pioneering new islands and reclaimed land such as Pearl Jumerirah, Jumana (Island 2), Blue Waters at Dubai Marina and Deira Island (a new palm island).
More hotel and residential projects will be springing up at Dubai Creek Harbour, where some of Dubai's most luxurious villas will be built, and more residential and retail spaces will be added to the outdoor City Walk mall at Al Wasl.
