Time and taste! These two qualities are what personify Parmigiani Fleurier. Now even more so with the Swiss watchmaker announcing its partnership with Dubai-based chef Izu Ani. The gastronomic genius behind La Serre Bistro, who is pictured wearing the Tonda Metrographe — with grained white dial and gold Hermès calfskin strap — is set to work with Parmigiani Fluerier to enhance the brand's themed food events and masterclasses, which it runs as part of their brand awareness campaigns.
The Michelin-star chef, who hails from Nigeria is a cooking connosuer who gained experience in the UK and France before heading East in 2009. "Chef Izu's passion and hard work, his commitment to continuous training and his dedication to sourcing the best ingredients and to creating traditional, 'real' dishes that are packed with flavour, draws strong parallels to our own skills at Parmigiani Fleurier," said Jean-Marc Jacot, CEO of Parmigiani Fleurier. "Today, producing hand finished components, movements and watches, of the highest quality available, remains our main goal as a brand, and this is also what animates Chef Izu Ani. Plus who doesn’t love great food, right?" continued Jacot.
Ani also commented on the collaboration saying: "Over the past 18 months, Parmigiani Fleurier gradually became one of our regular guests at La Serre. They first challenged us to come up with new dishes. Then as we were discussing the introduction of cooking masterclasses together, it dawned on us that our ethos and objectives draw many synergies."
