Tommy Hilfiger shines a spotlight on music's role in fashion design with a new exhibition in London – Rock Style. He has teamed up with fellow American, Jeffrey Deitch, a celebrated art dealer and curator, to put on the Sotheby's Gallery show that features trendsetters such as The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Ramones, and singers such as Madonna, Elvis Presley and Deborah Harry.
"In many cases, musicians were more influential in the world of fashion than designers," said Hilfiger.
Rock Style will also feature specially commissioned works by street artist Shepard Fairey, who has created images of David Bowie, George Harrison, Deborah Harry, Jimi Hendrix, Joey Ramone and Sid Vicious, especially for the exhibition.
