The British-based womenswear label – Self Portrait – helmed by Han Chong, a stand out Central Saint Martins alum, which is now only in its second year, stages its first Fashion Week presentation in New York. A conscious decision for the Londoner: "I wanted to give Self-Portrait a bit of a push and a different vibe [for spring]," explained Chong. "New York is modern, it's full of energy – I wanted to inject that into the collection."

The label has become a red-carpet favourite with loyal fans that include the fashionable likes of; Rachel McAdams, Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington and Kristen Stewart. But crucially Chong doesn't just have the support of the A-List, top-tier buyers of the industry like Net-a-Porter, Matches Fashion and Bergdorf Goodman are all on-side too.

Loved for its uber fine details, ultra-feminine aesthetic and comfortably contemporary price-point, the new Spring/Summer 16 collection, in all of its visibility, introduces the Self-Portrait woman to some new element, such as acid-bright colours, new fabrics that were developed in-house and photographic prints. "The Self-Portrait girl is not scared to stand out – these pieces catch attention when you're walking down the street," said Chong of the new lineup. We expect to see Self-Portrait continue to stand out as it pursues its rise to the top...
