Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez – the duo behind Proenza Schouler, are to reveal the details of the process of creating the brand's Autumn/Winter 15 collection, via the Instagram account, @proenzaschouler. The designers wanted to share the often untold stages of the creation process, through images, in their own unique way and have enlisted the help of photographer Landon Nordeman, to capture the story in pictures.
"It often feels like fashion documentaries and branded books focus on the same few aspects of the collection: the show, the casting and the fittings," McCollough said. "There is so much more that goes into the design process. We thought Instagram would be a great platform to share some of our process with an attention to detail that is often overlooked in more traditional mediums."
The current Autumn/Winter 15 collection, which was inspired by the work of abstract expressionist pioneer Helen Frankenthaler, is arriving in stores now. Other contributors to the Instagram project include FIT's museum director Valerie Steele, the stylist Edward Enninful and model the model who opened up the collection's runway show, Steph Smith.
