Marissa Webb is leaving her post as Creative Director at Banana Republic after just 18 months in the seat. While she's set to continue to be the brand's adviser, falling revenue has forced the creative off the cutting room floor. Banana Republic, Gap's sister brand has seen business slide pretty significantly in recent times and this exit follows closely after the president of its affiliate, Old Navy, stepped down to take over the reins at Ralph Lauren. Gap also saw its own creative director Rebekka Bay resign this year.
Webb leaves Banana Republic despite taking the brand to New York Fashion Week for the first time this year. However Gap will retain their stake in Webb's self-named label. "I'm really looking forward to stepping into my role as creative adviser at Banana Republic. This opens the door for even more possibilities for my own collection and Banana Republic," says Webb.
Banana Republic can be found in The Dubai Mall.
