Following the announcement that Gucci is taking their cruise collection to London, comes another British-based success story. With only one week to go until the official 2015 British Fashion Awards, Gucci's Creative Director Alessandro Michele has been announced an honouree of the prestigious International Designer Award for his commitment to the brand. Michele, who was recruited by Tom Ford back in 2002 after a former stint as an accessories designer at Fendi, took the lead role of the Italian fashion house back in January 2015 and his work has gone from strength to strength.
Natalie Massenet, chairman of the British Fashion Council spoke of Michele's design talent saying: "Alessandro Michele is a phenomenon at Gucci, his exciting, eclectic aesthetic has made an overnight impact on global fashion trends. It is not just that he has made the brand covetable and the product so desirable. He has also reinvigorated the retail experience bringing back playfulness and magic to the flagship store. This is a man who has his customer in his heart and celebrates them."
The British Fashion Awards will take place on November 23 at the London Coliseum.
