Chanel opens an ephemeral boutique in Rome, moments from its permanent Piazza di Spagna store. Set on the Via del Babuino, the new boutique expounds an idea often explored by Gabrielle Chanel herself – the concept of masculine-feminine.
The Roman exteriors house a much more modern interior lay-out, where white floors, terrazzo and concrete infuse a modernity and unisex vibe. The space is vaguely separated into fashion and beauty sections, with the first space devoted to ready-to-wear, accessories, footwear and handbags, with the 'it' watch of the moment – the Boy.friend watch – taking prominence. Elsewhere, Chanel's classic and newest fragrance and beauty collections are on display.
