In October 2014, a partnership between Beyonce and Topshop was announced but only recently has it been confirmed that the partnership is set for a Spring 2016 collection.
The joint venture, between Beyonce's Parkwood Entertainment Company and British tycoon Sir Philip Green's Arcadia, which owns Topshop, will be dubbed Parkwood Topshop Athletic. It will offer sports apparel that includes footwear and accessories. The range will reportedly be sold in 25 counties and the 50-50 venture will be part of the Arcadia group. This partnership is unlike previous Topshop celebrity collaborations because a whole new company is set to be created.
"I could not think of a better partner as I continue to grow the Parkwood business," said Beyonce, who already has clothing brand House of Dereon, which she co-owns with her mother, Tina Knowles. "I have always loved Topshop for its fashion credentials and forward thinking."
Sir Philip Green said, "We have been looking at this category as fashion inspired fitness develops, and know that this is right in our customers' heartland. Creating a partnership with Beyonce, one of the most hard-working and talented people in the world, who spends many hours of her life dancing, rehearsing and training is a unique opportunity to develop this category."
The Parkwood Topshop Athletic Spring 2016 collection will hit stores April 26, 2016.
