Nicholas Kirkwood has unveiled a special collection in celebration of his eponymous footwear label turning ten this year. The lineup features ten shoes, which were all inspired by icons from Kirkwood's youth including films, toy boxes, arcade computer games and toy boxes.
The collection will make its official debut at London Fashion Week tomorrow, and fans will have a chance to pre-order the special capsule collection at a pop-up in Selfridges, which opens on September 20.
"I want these shoes to exist, to be the way I wanted them to be. It's 100 percent a creative project and I was completely free with it. I'm not here to sell a whole load of them," Kirkwood told WWD.
Inspired by films such as Back to the Future and Eighties icons like Pac-Man and Star Wars, the ten year anniversary collection ranges from $2,700 to $6,900 and will be available at Level Shoe District in Dubai. Kirkwood has also factored in the masses, and will sell a range of iPhone cases and smaller accessories such as totes, at a much lower price range.
