The music scene in Dubai is "breaking on through to the other-side" (to borrow the immortal words of Jim Morrison) with a much needed new music concept – The Other Side – a specially curated fortnightly music event inspired by the live music scenes of Williamsburg Brooklyn, SXSW Austin, Shoredtich London, New Orleans, and other thriving musical hot-spots.

Set to debut on July 31, The Other Side is founded by Dania Ismail (co-founder of award-winning music night Electric Days) and Audrey Soler (founder of the concept store, The People of Sand).

From launch, music revellers can head to And Lounge, at The Address Dubai Marina, to enjoy some of the best international, regional and local live music acts, in the fresh new intimate venue.

The line-up of acts will include a mixture of international names, supported by local talent and will span genres from rock to indie pop, to jazz, blues, electro, punk, or folk. Topping the inaugural bill this Friday are the world touring Lebanese rock'n'roll band The Wanton Bishops. With support from the best in local talent, Andy Buchan spinning Indie tunes, and acoustic performances by Josh Monteath, Carl and The Reda Mafia.
