French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac took up residence at one of Paris' busiest travel hubs, as thousands of holiday makers pass through the capital's Orly airport for their holidays, staging a series of live-drawing performances on Monday and Tuesday.

Normally sketching his graphic and modern fashion designs, he swapped the sketch pad for the sprawling walls of the Orly Sud terminal's arrivals area, creating a series of eye-catching frescos. The personal appearances were designed to draw attention to a campaign launched by airport operator Aéroports de Paris, calling on passengers to share their travel memories on social media using the hashtag #welcomestories. De Castelbajac will turn the most compelling stories into permanent frescos to be displayed on the facade of the airport from October.
