Selena Gomez is set for a revival, in more ways than one. Off the back of her 2016 tour announcement and the Revival album launch, which is set to hit airwaves tomorrow, the singer has made a very personal announcement —  one that could have ended her career.

In 2014, the style star admitted to going through chemotherapy after she was diagnosed with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease. As a result she went on a lengthy hiatus, which was originally attributed to her break-up with Justin Bieber.

Now stepping away from the bubblegum tunes and relatively safe music, Gomez has decided to channel her inner emotions into this album. "I've been working since I was 7. I've been a UNICEF ambassador since I was 17. It's so disappointing that I've become a tabloid story. The hate motivated me. This is my time. I've deserved this. I earned it. This is all me," she said. The first two singles off the album have been well-received and fans are dying to get the full album.

Revival is set to launch worldwide October 9 but you can catch it first on iTunes before the album reaches the Middle East. Here's also hoping that Selena will also make an appearance in Dubai as part of her 2016 tour. Stay tuned!
