Warner Bros. has just released the first ever trailer for the Harry Potter spin-off movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Written by the author of the original Harry Potter novels JK Rowling, the new movie sees Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne play the film's protagonist Newt Scamander, a magizoologist who travels to America to find magical beasts that have escaped the suitcase. The trailer begins with a voice, which whispers the words: "Lumos Maxima" — a spell. A blinding flash of light ensues before cutting to sneak peek scenes of the unfolding story.

The new film takes place in 1926 in New York and also stars Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton and Ezra Miller.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will hit theatres November 18, 2016.
