The first images of the Harry Potter spin-off series, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, have been released. The prequel to the original Harry Potter series sees Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne play Newt Scamander, a magizoologist.

The official pictures show Redmayne dressed in a long blue coat complete with a vest and bow tie. The whole set seems to be a recreation of 1926 New York, where Redmayne's character travels to, in search of magical creatures. The result of his adventures is a textbook, one that will be read by Harry Potter 70 years later.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the first in a trilogy written J.K. Rowling herself. Also starring Colin Farrell and Samantha Morton the film is slated for release in November 2016. For now though, here's a sneak peek on set...
