The 12th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) has unveiled its line-up of 134 films from 60 countries. These include 55 world premieres and international premieres, 46 MENA premieres, 11 Middle East premieres and 17 GCC premieres.

While it was previously announced that the festival will open with Lenny Abrahamson's suspenseful and heartrending drama 'Room', we can now confirm that 'The Big Short', starring Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell, will close the curtain.

Other international films looking to grab the spotlight include 'Suffragette', starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter and Meryl Streep, 'Truth', starring Robert Redford and Cate Blanchett, and 'The Daughter', starring Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush.

For DIFF's Cinema of the World segment, Jayro Bustamante's seven-time-award-winning feature 'Ixcanul Volcano' is a must-watch. Star Trek fans also have reason to get excited as footage of the upcoming movie, partly filmed in Dubai, will be released.

Hollywood celebrities to look out for at the festival include Jake Gyllenhaal, Richard Dreyfuss while Bollywood stars include Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.

The 12th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival runs from December 9-16, 2015. The DIFF box office opens on November 27 at diff.ae.
