Enzo Anselmo Ferrari is set to get a lot of screen time as it has been announced that two feature films about the automotive legend are in the works. Christian Bale is set star as the Italian automaker in an upcoming biopic based off the book Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races, by Brock Yates.
The film will be directed by Michael Mann, and will focus on the tragic events of 1957, when the Ferrari founder was dealing with the death of Spanish Ferrari driver, Alfonso de Portago, after he crashed his Ferrari 335S at the Mille Miglia, killing himself, his co-driver Edmund Nelson and nine spectators including five children.
The second feature will be based on Ferrari's own autobiography – Ferrari 80 – and look at his life from the 40's through to the 80's, and will star Robert De Niro as the man himself. Who will make the better Enzo?
