Salwa Zeidan Gallery will present the first solo exhibition for emerging Emirati artist Fatema Al Mazrouie, this January. Entitled Man Who Built a Nation, the show is dedicated completely to His Highness Sheikh Zayed, in appreciation of the tremendous value and impact the exceptional leader has had on the lives of the people of the Emirates.
"As an Emirati woman, I can't help but accredit all of the opportunities and support we receive to Sheikh Zayed's profound respect for women," says Al Mazrouie. "His progressive vision has brought forth much understanding for the importance of education and evolution — a legacy that continues to help our people prosper long after his passing. This collection celebrates the attributes of our culture that I am proudest of."
Al Mazrouie's rise in the art world has also been stellar. Her first auctioned painting took place at Sotheby's in 2010, she was chosen as the Salwa Zeidan Gallery's featured signature artist at Art Abu Dhabi, not to mention she's had three international group exhibitions in London as well as landing a spot among the 50 Emirati artists at the Art Foundation Paris.
Man Who Built a Nation will open on January 12 and remain on display until early February at the Salwa Zeidan Gallery, St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi.
