Famed fashion photographer, Helmut Newton is being remembered in a tribute to his work, The Pages from the Glossies. This stunning exhibition offers fashion and photography enthusiasts a new perspective on the legendary photographer and his many iconic photographs.
The Pages from the Glossies exhibition will present the original magazine pages in which they were originally published between 1956 and 1998. During this time, Newton was regularly commissioned by publishers and editors from the most renowned magazines around the world to share his vision of contemporary fashion.
The Helmut Newton Foundation will showcase enlargements of the single- and double-paged images in Pages from the Glossies. The iconic photographs that would later become famous were first published in the context of fashion editorials for the likes of Vogue, Elle, Queen, and Stern. This exhibition includes the original headlines, page numbers, commentary, and captions from the magazines they originally appeared in and will reveal more than 230 magazine pages and nearly 500 individual pictures.
In 1998, Newton brought together many of these images in his book Pages from the Glossies, which was published by Scalo in Zurich. The book will be reissued this fall by Taschen Books. The Helmut Newton:Pages from the Glossies Exhibtion will open from December 4, 2015 until May 22, 2016 at the Museum für Fotografie Berlin, Germany.
