Abu Dhabi Art 2015 is here and it's positioned to present a selection of works from the world's leading modern and contemporary art galleries from Europe, Asia, North America and the Middle East. Showcasing exceptional artworks from emerging artists alongside iconic pieces by the world's most renowned names, the future of the Arabian art world is being channelled into a game changing movement.
"Abu Dhabi Art is a moment to reflect on the rapidly developing artistic scene of the UAE, and to celebrate the cultural and creative diversity of the region whilst fuelling Abu Dhabi's emerging identity as a beacon for art and culture," said Rita Aoun-Abdo, Executive Director, Culture Sector, TCA Abu Dhabi. "As we move towards an interwoven, comprehensive vision of Abu Dhabi's art scene, Abu Dhabi Art provides a distinctive meeting point for diverse audiences to join together in a spirit of artistic exploration and intellectual discovery."
Offering visitors two programmes to attend, Abu Dhabi Art this year has an interactive line-up that is set to spark conversation. The first is a public programme talking performing arts and collaborative community initiatives. The second is an art fair, which includes an array of renowned and emerging exhibiting galleries. Both programmes are designed to help support up-and-coming artists and galleries.
Abu Dhabi Art's Talks Programme also welcomes museum directors, scholars, curators and philosophers from around the world. Each one will discuss the openings of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi as well as the art scene in the UAE. The talks will be led by Jean-Luc Martinez, President-Director of the Louvre, Neil MacGregor, Director of the British Museum and Richard Armstrong, Museum Director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation — each giving a sneek peak and insight into their museum's progress and the stories that they will tell.
Abu Dhabi Art is located at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi and runs from November 18-21, 2015.
