Your makeup on the red carpet always looks flawless. What's your secret?
I like to change up my red carpet looks, but I tend to favour a strong eye.
What's your beauty routine before a red carpet event?
If I can get it, I think the best beauty routine is a good night's sleep and plenty of water. Rested, hydrated skin always looks best!
How can perfect make up make you feel more confident on the red carpet?
It always makes me feel more confident. Wearing a red carpet look is like stepping into a role and makeup is a big part of that. The makeup artists are incredible and can work magic to make you look more well-rested and brighter.
What's the best advice you've ever received from a makeup artist?
Use mascara from the root out.
What about for applying a base coat?
Use a sponge!
Which beauty product do you always carry with you?
I really love Dior's Lip Glow. It's the perfect hint of colour and looks great on everyone. Whether I am in full makeup or keeping it simple, it always looks great.
How do you keep your skin so flawless?
A great makeup artist! Kidding aside, I try to take care of myself, which shows on my face. For me that means, leading a vegan lifestyle, getting plenty of sleep and exercising regularly.
What is your definition of a perfect complexion?
A healthy, even glow.
You're known for having perfect young skin. What advice can you give to others who want to look radiant and fresh?
Take care of yourself and find a beauty routine that is true to who you are. That's why I love Diorskin. It allows me to look like me — just an enhanced version.
What was it like shooting the Dior Forever campaign?
We laughed all day long. The team on these campaigns is really great and at this point, we feel like a family. There's always great music, food and lots of laughing.
How do you feel about working with Peter Phillips?
He is a genius! I love him and he is a true artist. He makes me look my best, for sure. He is also a wonderful person, which makes working with him a pleasure.
How do you think being a part of Dior has contributed to your career?
It's a great honour to be in the company of great women such as Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cotillard, Rihanna and Charlize Theron and I feel lucky to be with them as peers. I've been working with Dior for so long and they have been so incredibly supportive of me and my career. I have also been lucky enough to travel to some pretty incredible places with them, giving me time in foreign countries I may not otherwise get to experience.
I feel very lucky to have Dior in my life.
Do you think Dior enhances other women's lives?
I love that Dior encourages women to be their best self and to be comfortable in their own skin.
Which Dior products do you like the most and why?
The Rouge Dior Trafalgar 844, it's an orange-red lipstick, which is easy to wear in every situation.
Has your idea of beauty and the way you wear make-up changed since you moved to Paris?
Yes! Parisian women are always so stylish, so chic and cool. They have great style and a beauty look that is really effortless. They don't wear heavy makeup but their complexion is always so smooth and beautiful. I'm still learning how they do it!
Do you believe in a universal standard of beauty? If it has to be a person, who?
No, I very much think beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the cultural standards affect what is most beautiful. I love that. It would be boring if everyone looked the same.
What advice do you have for women balancing a career and family life?
Give yourself a break — literally and figuratively. We all hold ourselves to such a high standard and it's a constant balancing act. If you have one bad day, don't let it define you. There's always tomorrow. I also think it's important to carve out time for yourself. It's easy to forget that but it's so important.
